Dear members and friends in Division A
Together, we ran a good race.
As of 30 Jun, three Areas are President’s Distinguished Areas (Area A6’s performance is not updated as of TI Report of 2 Jul 2010 and we had sought LGET Michael Rodrigues’ help to follow up with TI), one Select Distinguished Area and one Distinguished Area.
The Division ended the term with the award of President’s Distinguished Division – which exceeds my personal expectations.
Every Member Counts, Every Leader Counts!
Leaders are Achievers!
I hope that all of us learned something in our quests to be better leaders and communicators during the term.
Without your support, encouragement and generous assistance, Division A would not come this far. Especially during the last few days before 30 Jun, the way in which you scrambled towards submission of the July Officers’ Lists to the World HQ, encouraged your CC/AC hopefuls to beat the deadline, and formed new clubs, is commendable.
When I agreed to take up the governorship, it was my every intention to pay it forward. Those of you who have known me well enough will appreciate what I really mean; for what I am today, I owe it to Toastmasters.
If I had not performed up to your expectations or if I was unable to attend to your needs well, I sincerely apologise. Just like many of you, I am also an income earner and had tried my very best to juggle my spare time for Toastmasters.
I did struggle a bit while discharging my responsibilities as your Division Governor: I underwent a minor surgical procedure in Sep 2009 to remove a lump on my back, and had a fracture at my little toe in late Nov 2009.
I promised to visit all the Div A Clubs during my term of office and I regret that I have not been successful in visiting TCS Square and PSRC Toastmasters Clubs; I will make it up in the new Term.
For the term 2009-2010, I am proud to announce the achievements of all clubs in Div A:

- Nomination for Area Governor of the Year,
Clarification with TI on DCP status for Singapore Tamil Toastmasters Club, DONEClarification with TI regarding the chartering of Anchorvale CC Toastmasters Club,DONE- Visits to TCS Square and PSRC.
On the invitation of DVG Albert Lim, I will remain on the Division Council as your Division Advisor; I also look forward to meeting your club leaders in the coming Club Officers’ Training on 17 Jul 2010 at AIA Changi.
I hope that I am able to present the DVG A Citation Awards to the club winners on that day.
Till we meet again,
Yeo Chai Tun DTM
